Seven years after the last installment, the angriest birds on the big screen are ready to return once again. In the last few hours, the hilarious official trailer for The Angry Birds Movie 3 (Angry Birds 3) has been released—a new cinematic adventure coming this Christmas based on the popular mobile video game by Rovio.
This first look at the film shows us the franchise’s hot-tempered protagonist, Red, now grappling with what could turn out to be the most complex and treacherous challenge of his life: parenthood. Red has started a family with Silver, which now includes their adventurous eldest son Glider, their creative second child June, and Olly, the couple’s baby chick. However, something even more treacherous seems to be looming on the horizon, as suggested by the mysterious official synopsis, which reads as follows:
An angry bird must face his greatest challenge yet: surviving fatherhood… while saving the world!
Angry Birds 3 was directed by John Rice and is based on a screenplay by Thurop Van Orman. The film’s executive producers include John Cohen, Dan Chuba, Carla Connor, and Namit Malhotra.
The film’s original voice cast will feature the return of Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Rachel Bloom, and Danny McBride in their respective roles as Red, Chuck, Silver, and Bomb. New additions to the cast include Emma Myers, Walker Scobell, Marcello Hernández, Tim Robinson, Lily James, Keke Palmer, Anna Cathcart, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Nikki Glaser, MrBeast, Salish Matter, Psalm West, Sam Richardson, James Austin Johnson, Anthony Padilla, and Ian Hecox.
Produced by Rovio, Sega, and Prime Focus Studios, in collaboration with Flywheel Media, One Cool Group, and Dentsu, Angry Birds 3 is set to hit Italian theaters this Christmas.
